Federation Hall of Fame Guidelines
  1. The Federation of Northwest Dahlia Growers (Federation) should establish a Hall of Fame.

  2. There should be a living/current list and also a memorial list of those deceased members.

  3. Recipients will be listed in the Dahlia annual and receive a plaque noting their award. A deceased winner award will be presented to the nearest family member. The award shall be given to the honoree at the Annual Meeting of the Federation.

  4. Annually, each Affiliated Society may nominate one* current and one memorial candidate from any current or past Federation member in their Society or any other Society in the Federation. *Exception would be: The candidate may be a husband and wife together for service to the dahlia and the Federation with each to have a separate written biography.

  5. Candidates should be honored for their contribution to the dahlia and service to the Federation.

  6. Societies will send a biography to the Federation Secretary by June 1 each year. Biographies will be distributed to the Federation Governing Board members at least two weeks prior to their summer meeting. The biography should clearly state the contribution the nominee has made to both the dahlia and the Federation.

  7. The Hall of Fame candidates will be voted on at the summer Federation Board meeting. An 80% board approval of a candidate must be reached for the candidate to be elected to the Hall of Fame.

  8. Upon the death of a living Hall of Fame member, his or her name will be automatically placed on the Memorial list.

  9. The biography of each year’s honorees shall be published in the Fall Federation newsletter.
